Corporate and Strategic Equality Plan 2025 - 27 To receive and consider the Corporate and Strategic Equality Plan 2025 – 27. Additional documents:
Minutes: Cabinet considered the annual update to the Council’s Corporate and Strategic Equality Plan: Stronger, Fairer, Greener (2025-2027). The Plan reaffirmed the three well-being objectives and the updated actions that needed to be taken to deliver them. Cabinet welcomed the new measures which had been added which were felt to be challenging but achievable. Cabinet also welcomed the way in which climate and nature had been embedded in governance processes.
Cabinet also considered the recommendations of the Scrutiny Committees. Cabinet members indicated their support for the recommendations for an easy read version of the Plan to be produced and for the timeline for achieving Net Zero to be re-assessed. Formal responses would be provided to Scrutiny.
Subject to a revision to the wording in relation to the support for armed forces veterans it was
RECOMMENDED to Council that the annual update to the Corporate and Strategic Equality Plan (as outlined in Appendix A to the report) is approved for publication, with implementation from 01 April 2025 considering the recommendations provided in Appendix A.
