To receive introductions by the Chair and an explanation of the Sub-Committee’s procedures by the Principal Solicitor. 

Minutes:

The Chair introduced the Sub-Committee and its Clerk.

 

The Clerk to the Sub-Committee on behalf of the Solicitor to the Council explained the procedures to be followed by the Sub-Committee.

To consider an application for a new licence from for the Old School, New Radnor.

Minutes:

Premises – Old School, New Radnor

Applicant – Ruth Watson accompanied by Mr Dodman of New Radnor Community Council

Objectors – T Underhill and D Bradford

 

The Licensing Officer presented the licensing authority’s position as outlined in the report [copy filed with the signed minutes].  She advised that the Licensing section was happy with the consultation undertaken by the applicant. 

 

The Applicant outlined her application with the support of the Clerk to New Radnor Community Council.  The Objectors set out their concerns with regard to the interaction of the Premises with the adjacent primary school.  There were no objections from the Responsible Authorities.

 

The Sub-Committee withdrew to consider, in private, the application and the evidence they had heard, with the support of the Clerk. 

 

On their return the Chair announced their decision.  In reaching the decision Members took into account the relevant written and verbal representations. 

 

RESOLVED

Reason for decision

To grant the application as applied for, but subject to the mandatory conditions and also the conditions offered by the applicant including a condition prohibiting the sale of alcohol during school opening times (including any after school functions where children are present).

To promote the licensing objectives.

 

The Clerk to the Sub-Committee advised that he would confirm the decision in writing and reminded parties of their right to appeal.
