Consultation on Draft Statement of Principles, Gambling Act 2005 PDF 84 KB To consider a report by the Senior Licensing Officer. Additional documents: Minutes: The Committee considered the draft Statement of Principles, Gambling Act 2005. It noted that Powys Licensing is represented on a Four Counties Licensing Forum which covers the policing area of Dyfed Powys and includes Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys County Councils. The Forum had developed a draft Statement of Principles in consultation with representatives of the Gambling Commission.
In response to questions regarding safeguarding the Senior Licensing Officer advised that licensed premises should provide appropriate safeguarding training for staff. Premises should support staff to look out for potential problem gamblers and have relevant literature available regarding support services etc.
The Chair advised that the Committee would be advised of a meeting date in September, in due course. He advised that after this meeting a visit would be made to a Betting shop, as part of the Committee’s ongoing development.
Following the formal meeting the Committee visited Penmaenau Farm, Llanelwedd to review a licensed premises, as part of the Committee’s ongoing development. The Committee thanked Ann Morgan for the in-depth tour and for responding to Members’ questions. The Committee also thanked Sue Jones, Senior Licensing Officer for organsiang the visit.
