Question:

In view of the emphasis on the new administration on lower capital expenditure during the next 5 years; please confirm that the long planned Hyddgen development will happen and the timetable for the presentation of the full planning application.

Response by the Portfolio Holder:

Thank you very much for your query.  The Bro Hyddgen Community Campus project is a major flagship project for the Council, one which would see significant investment in the Machynlleth and wider Dyfi Valley area.  Following completion of RIBA 3 design stage and given the complexity of the project, the team were asked to review the costs and to identify if there are any areas of potential savings that could be achieved – this work is nearing completion and Cabinet will be consider the findings of this review within the next few weeks, following which further information will be provided to all stakeholders involved.
