Question from: County Councillor Roger Williams Subject: Post 16 Education
What consideration has been given to setting up in Powys a Tertiary College responsible for the delivery of both academic and vocational education?
Response by the Portfolio Holder:
The governance options papers identified that the strengths and opportunities that present themselves with retaining localised provision far outweigh the weaknesses and threats of a single entity delivering all Powys sixth form provision. The governance options were evaluated against the learner entitlement criteria (converted into Investment Objectives) and also under a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis. The results of the analyses were made available as part of the 18th May 2021 Cabinet report.
