Question from: County Councillor James Gibson-Watt Subject: Powys County Council Sewerage Charges 2021/22
Question:
Further to the response recently published by the Portfolio Holder to my previous question on sewerage charges levied on Powys residents, could the Portfolio Holder provide a list of Powys County Council sewage treatment plants that are due to be upgraded using extra capital expenditure in 2021/22, over and above normal day-to-day maintenance expenditure?
Minutes: Response by the Portfolio Holder:
A review of the Powys County Council Housing Service sewage facilities commenced with the appointment of a project officer in November 2020. The officer was tasked with monitoring and reviewing the responsive maintenance and repair service provided by Heart of Wales Property Services, and to undertake a site-by-site condition survey. The condition survey will be used to inform the capital programme of works for the HRA sewage facilities over the next few years.
You will appreciate that the process of the review is ongoing, however, initial findings have identified three sites for capital works for the year 2021/22:
• Glandulais, Felin Fach • Maesyrawel, Pontfaen • St Michaels Crescent, Forden
In addition to these works, telemetry will be installed on all sites with pumps. These are located at: • Beguildy • Felindre • Llangyniew • Forden • Welshpool • Llanfihangel • Brecon • Llanfaes • Dolyhir • Tregynon • Llandrinio • Pwllgloyw
Depending on the findings of more in-depth investigation work that is currently ongoing, Pwllgloyw, Lloyney and Dolfor may also be included in the capital programme for 2021/22. |
