Question from: County Councillor Jackie Charlton Subject: Hate crime
Question:
Next week is Hate Crime Awareness Week (13th to 16th October) and this year the focus will be on bringing people together to stand in solidarity with those affected by hate crime, to remember those who have been lost to hate crime, and continue to help those who need ongoing support.
This year the theme is Byddwch yn Glên - Be friendly and welcoming.
Could you tell me what Powys County Council is doing to highlight the issues of Hate Crime and what more can be done to challenge this when it is exposed?
For information details below of how to report Hate Crime:- You can call on 0300 3031 982 for free emotional support if you’ve been a victim of hate crime or visit the website at - www.reporthate.victimsupport.org.uk
