Question from: County Councillor Gareth Ratcliffe Subject: Baby Loss Awareness Week
Question:
We are approaching Baby Loss Awareness Week on 9th – 15th October, it would be nice for the community to get behind events like this and its very simple as to show support by light up buildings in Pink and Blue. We have a number of building in Hay that could take part or even shops could use filters over that week to change the colour in their shop windows.
Could Powys show the lead and light up its buildings and town clocks over this week to show solidarity to Mothers, Fathers, brothers and sisters that we are here for them in their dark times? Minutes: Response by the Portfolio Holder:
Thank you for message in response to supporting this very important movement and I fully understand your request to support the scheme. Unfortunately, due to the operational issues we currently face and the economics in lighting up council properties externally the team who manage our properties have advised they will find it difficult to help at this time.
They have suggested lighting up a number of rooms in core offices such as County Hall if that would suffice. Neil Clutton has sourced some coloured gels and a number of internal lights which could be used to do this. I welcome your thoughts if you feel this will suffice at this difficult time.
