Question from: County Councillor Elwyn Vaughan Subject: Hospitality sector and Corovirus
Question: Ynys Mon Council Economic Portfolio holder has today emailed 400 hospitality and tourism providers in Anglesey stating that they must stop visitors coming to their sites with immediate effect.
In view of the immense concern by Powys residents, Doctors and health practitioners at the number of visitors coming to Wales with the danger of spreading Corovirus from urban settings and the huge added pressure it will create on services in Powys, in particular our NHS; will you as portfolio holder take urgent action and follow the example of Ynys Mon and tell caravan sites and the hospitality sector to stop visitors coming to their sites with immediate effect and in particular that caravan sites should close for the immediate future for the benefit of all our residents Minutes: Response by the Portfolio Holder:
Thank you for your email. As you will be aware by now, Powys County Council, Welsh Government and the UK Government took decisive action yesterday to address concerns around visitors.
